Places Matter! 2010 programme - A4E and CPD
Places Matter! Education is pleased to give you advance information and priority booking for our programme of activity for 2010 – a new CPD programme, including the opportunity for tailor made training sessions and the third and final year of Architecture for Everyone.
- Our free CPD programme supports teachers from across the Northwest in using the built environment within their teaching – from buildings and places to landscapes and public areas. Sessions are hands on and provide ideas and resources to support the teaching of the core curriculum. A flyer, curriculum links and an application form are attached. This year we are also offering a limited number of free tailor-made teacher CPD sessions. More information about both opportunities can be found at www.placesmatter.co.uk/education/teachers
- Architecture for Everyone is an opportunity for 60 15-19 year olds from Merseyside and Greater Manchester to take part in 8 workshops between October - December 2010. The campaign aims to encourage young people from a wide range of backgrounds to learn about architecture and develop a wide range of new skills. A pupil flyer, teacher flyer, application form and workshop outline and key skills information is attached. The closing date is 1st October. More information can be found at http://www.placesmatter.co.uk/education/architecture-everyone-northwest
Hard copies of the attached will also be sent out to schools across the region later this week. Please note that places on the above are limited and early sign up is recommended.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

It felt like a mad trip to go all the way to Amsterdam to see a lecture at the Academy of Architecture, but in my opinion well worth it. Travelling with Kerry and William I had the chance to be involved in some very thoughtful discussions with two very committed artist who's practice focusses on social engagement. -
