Aims and description
his module focuses on practical, hands-on ways teachers can keep students engaged during a school trip. It explores simple strategies to help students stay motivated, focused, and excited about what they are seeing and doing.
You will look at ways to structure the visit, so students are actively involved, rather than just observing. This might include using questions, small tasks, or opportunities for discussion throughout the day.
The module will help you think about how to manage energy levels, attention, and behaviour so that all students can take part and get the most out of the experience.
By the end, you will have a range of easy-to-use ideas to help turn any school trip into an engaging, purposeful learning experience where students are eager to explore and learn.
We aim to:
-
Encourage structured and purposeful visits
To support teachers in planning and structuring visits so that learning is guided through questions, discussion, and meaningful tasks. -
Create active engagement strategies
To explore practical techniques that help keep students actively involved during school trips, rather than simply observing. -
Manage behaviour and participation
Build confidence in managing student energy, attention, and behaviour so that all learners can fully engage and get the most from the experience.
